Christopher "Chris" Hagerty, Age 83, of Johnstown, Colorado, Formerly of Ft. Collins, died February 22, 2025, at the Medical Center of the Rockies due to complications of an infection.

Chris was born on June 18, 1941, in Wheeling, West Virginia to Mary and Robert Hagerty. They moved when Chris was young to North Hollywood, California.

Chris met Sandra Lee Grammer and married her shortly before joining the US Navy and served honorably for four years. Following his military experience, he graduated from Pasadena City College and joined the Police Department. He worked in the South Pasadena Police Department for two years before transferring to Pasadena Police Department. After 28 years, he retired as a lieutenant.

When Chris retired from the Pasadena Police Department in 1991, he moved to Fort Collins. Sandra died in 2010 and Chris later married Christine Tabone. Together they traveled, enjoyed their grandchildren, and spent many years active at St. Joseph Parish.

Chris went into Special Events with the NFL coordinating transportation for Super Bowls and Pro Bowls as well as coordinating other events such as the Pope's visit in Denver in 1993, the 1994 USA World Cup Soccer in Chicago, the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, among numerous other big events.

Fishing was Chris's passion from a young boy and he carried that same passion until his death.
Chris is survived by his son, Robert and daughter, Diana Case, both of Fort Collins; grandson, Bryan Wilson of Fort Collins; and sister, Roberta Groves of Norfolk Virgina. Chris was preceded in death by a sister Kathleen and both wives, Sandra, and Christine.

A memorial mass will be celebrated starting at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday March 1, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Collins. A reception will follow immediately afterwards at Block One Event Center - 428 Linden St., Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.The memorial mass will be livestreamed by St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
