Christopher Gene Monaldi, age 66 of Fort Collins, died August 31, 2022 at Center Ave. Rehab in Fort Collins. Born October 26, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY to Emil and Aileen Monaldi.
Chris graduated from MacArthur High School in Levittown, NY and Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX. He was employed 22 years as an Air Traffic Controller with the FAA and was a NATCA union representative. He lived for flying. He spent many years taking the family on adventures in their Cessna 210. After he retired, he went on to get his helicopter pilots license, was a flight instructor for both airplanes and helicopters, and flew for a mapping company. Chris could be easily spotted and identified by his custom Hawaiian shirts. Chris believed in doing the things he loved most and spending time with those he cherished.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Elizabeth and Emily Monaldi; his mother, Aileen Monaldi; his sister, Lisa Christianson and her children, Adam and Jesse Christianson.
A celebration of Chris' life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the clubhouse at 5151 Boardwalk Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80525. Please call 970-988-3901 for more information.
