Christy Staab

Christy Ann Staab first graced the world with her shining presence in January of 1960 and surrendered to the good Lord's merciful call June 21, 2026. Pairing God's grace and her knowledge of alternative medicine, she managed to stave off the effects of an aggressive and rare form of breast cancer for a remarkable duration.

Born to John and Alyce Bowling in Loup City, NE, she grew up on an Appaloosa horse and Hereford cattle ranch in Broken Bow, NE with her three siblings Leilani, Debie and Monte. This rich upbringing continued to inform her devotion to the horse industry, branching into an extensive career in equine rehabilitation and training.

As a young person, she excelled in academics. Her unmatched vocals offered her opportunity throughout her adulthood singing for various events; and while her equestrian talents led to multiple national championships along with a few world titles, what remained most important to her, was to be everything to her family.

Christy is often remembered as a profound horsewoman, intuitive wisdom sharer and remarkably warm-hearted soul.

She is survived by her husband Mike, daughter Shandy, son-in-law Duane, stepdaughter Erin and siblings. Take comfort in this, if you knew Christy, you do not grieve alone.
