Clara "Lee" Eiler

Mar 17, 1932 — Sep 22, 2023

John "Sandy" Eiler and his wife, Lee, moved their family to Hyannis on Cape Cod in 1962. Lee Loved the beach at sunrise, noon or sunset. We have wonderful memories of sailing lessons at Hyannis Port Yacht Club and swimming lessons at Veteran's Beach. Mom would join us at the beach after lessons with a picnic lunch. Afterwards we'd play at Crab Creek and the beach for hours.

Our family attended the Federated Church of Hyannis every Sunday, every season of the year. In 1970 Lee and John joined the First Baptist Church of Hyannis. Mother loved music. She had a beautiful singing voice. She knew all the words to every song ever written since 1940, and all the verses to most hymns and Christmas carols. Mom played piano and accompanied our junior high choir at the church. She was a Cub Scout den mother for the boys.

Lee saw goodness in everyone. She loved her family and poured her heart and her time into outings to the beach, riding harbor boats, whale watch cruises, and even scheduled a weekend at the Race Point Lighthouse. She was a fan of attending concerts at the historic Newport homes. Mother enjoyed attending plays and musicals in Boston. She and her friends made annual trips to NYC for shopping and catching the newest Broadway play.

Our beloved Mother Clara "Lee" Eiler passed away on September 22, 2023, at Good Samaritan Village in Fort Collins, Colorado five months after a fall and back injury on her 91st birthday. She has left behind a legacy of love for her four children, Lora Lee (Steve) Woods, Karl (Linda) Eiler, Cari Burbank, Jeff Eiler, and Ellen Waks. Her grandchildren Amanda (Jason) Battles, Patrick (Leslie) Eiler, Felice (Jered) Sandner, Leita and John Burbank, Karl Francis (Gabby) Eiler, Capt. Will (Sarah) Eiler, Casey (Wendy) Eiler, and Micky (Brian) Foley. Lee has 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. We have great memories and know now that Mother is teaching angels how to sing.

Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 14th, at First Baptist Church, 486 Main St, Hyannis, MA 02601.
