Mona Colleen (Boyes) Nichols, 54, began her life on Sept. 16, 1958 and has been a gift to everyone who knew her. Full of love and life, spunk and wit for all 54 years. She was born in Fort Collins, CO to Walt and Arline Boyes and was the youngest of three children, Cindy (Gina) and Curt (Susan) never knew what they were in for! She attended Poudre High, and then married Russ Nichols on Oct. 15, 1977. She loved nothing more than their two sons, Steve (Erin) and Chris (Selena) and lived for her boys. ("Hey Steve, you gotta come home sometime!") Colleen was the type of person that made everyone's day brighter with her smiles and quick wit. She loved all animals, esp. Beau, Sis, and Bruiser; camping, making latch hook rugs, poster paintings, and candles. Colleen enjoyed all the family trips, i.e. Lake Powell, cruises, and parasailing. She liked giving her mom and dad a hard time and was full of P&V! Colleen is described as being happy, strong, loving, a fighter, very agreeable who never complained, esp. when faced with her many medical challenges. She was the best mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend that was taken all too soon from those who loved her on May 31, 2013. She is preceded in death by her special friend, Russell Jordanger; who she's probably already given a swift boot to! Her many nieces and nephews were special to Colleen, one and all. Services were held on Jun 02, 2013 at Goes Funeral Care. Any donations to the Amer. Heart Assoc. or Heart of the Rockies are greatly appreciated. The family sends special thanks to PVH ICU staff, in particular to Drs. Hoyt and Wallach and all the nursing staff, John, Anya, Rose, Lisa, Megan, Cathy; so many compassionate people, too many to mention. We are thankful for your service.
