Connie Snelling, 65, of Fort Collins, Colorado died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, after a two month battle with a rare cancer. She was at home with several family members by her side. Constance Mae Graff was born November 5, 1942 to Sylvester and Mae Graff in Wichita, Kansas. She grew up on Big Sandy Lake in McGregor, Minnesota and married Duane Snelling on August 31, 1963 in McGregor. They moved to Fort Collins in 1971, later divorced, and then reunited. They were together until Duane's death on April 2, 1997. Connie worked for the U. S. Geological Survey for over 20 years. She enjoyed dancing, gambling, playing cards and writing poetry. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Connie was a caregiver, and was the most joyful when taking care of her family. She is survived by her four children, Regina (and Ted) Chavez, Carol Snelling-Quigley (and Kit Quigley), Mary Nunally and David Snelling; twelve grandchildren, Michael, Dimitri, Kitresa, Austin, Josh, Jessie, Jacob, Ashley, Tyler, Branden, Jonathen and Jorden. She was expecting her first great-grandchild, Maurice, next month. Connie is also survived by nine siblings, Marge, Janice, Bob, Barbara, Ed, Hal, Dianne, Kaye and Sylvia; her mother-in-law, Edythe Snelling; sister-in-law, Connie (and Rick) Mattrice; brother-in-law, Bob (and Betty) Snelling; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to Duane, she was preceded in death by her father, in 1991; her mother, on February 10, 2008; her sisters Jo and Patsy; brother, Richard; nieces Tammy and Cherity; nephew Jim; great-nephews Dale and Moises; and brothers-in-law, Bill and Rainy. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Mountain and Howes in Ft. Collins. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, at St. Joseph Church. Interment, Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Connie's memory may be made to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Goes Funeral Care, 3665 Canal Dr., #E, Ft.
