Daniel Frank O'Brien

d. Oct 27, 2018

Daniel Frank O'Brien, 65, of Fort Collins, passed into the hands of God on October 27, 2018.

One of six children, Dan was born and raised in Bay City, Michigan by loving parents John and Lillian O'Brien. It was there he graduated high school and went on to earn a pharmacy degree, as did his wife Linda, from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.

On June 5, 1976, Dan was married to Linda Kay Mudd and they raised two children together, Cameron and Kevin. Dan's career as a pharmacist led the family to Colorado in 1977. They lived in Colorado Springs, spent many years in Grand Junction, and ten years ago moved to Fort Collins, where he was a pharmacist at Poudre Valley Hospital.

Dan was enthusiastic for many things and remembered for his wonderful smile and easy going personality. He enjoyed sports of all kinds and played golf and fantasy football. A devout Catholic, Dan was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, always ready to lend a hand and volunteer where he could. He was a faithful husband, father, brother, friend, and servant of God. He was beloved by his co-workers at the hospital who have kept in touch throughout his 2 year illness with Multiple Myeloma, always hoping – as he was – to return to work with them.

Dan's kind spirit encouraged those around him and will leave a lasting imprint on his family's hearts, his spiritual home at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, the Knights of Columbus, and his community.

Dan is survived by his wife, Linda O'Brien; sons, Cameron and Kevin O'Brien and their fiancees; siblings, Susan Maxwell (Joseph), Thomas O'Brien (Chris), and Patrick O'Brien (Ann); and granddaughter, Gloria. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Frederick and William O'Brien.
