David Lance Boyd, 77, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Sunday December 8, 2019 in Fort Collins, Colorado where he currently resided. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 31, 1942. He was the son of the late Martin Ross Boyd and the late Dorothy Greer Boyd.
David Lance was a graduate of John Carroll High School (1961) and earned a Bachelor of Art and a Master's degree in Philosophy and English from Auburn University. He taught at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, Concord University in Athens West Virginia, Lawson State in Birmingham, Alabama and several other Universities. He was currently employed by Poudre High school in Ft Collins, Colorado where he taught special education and was dearly loved by both parents and teachers because he was a staunch advocate for special needs children and their parents.
David Lance was preceded in death by his sister Mickey Boyd Ramsey, his brother in law Michael S Ramsey, his niece Greer Elise Ramsey Belcher, and his nephew Martin Race Ramsey. He is survived by three sons Sean Boyd and wife Alitta Aldridge Boyd, Laeri Boyd and wife Amy Robertson Boyd, Brendan Griffin and wife, daughter Katherine Griffin Rice and husband, three grandsons Mason Boyd, Lanham Boyd and Aiden Cahela.
