David E. Michoski was born February 20, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois and lived in Fort Collins since 1973. He passed away peacefully on October 23, 2021. David was a kind man with a big heart who loved his family and friends. At family gatherings David could be counted on to be the life of the party, ready to tell jokes, dance about, and keep everybody laughing. He always remembered every family member's birthday. David graduated from Chicago Vocational High School and began working at the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago. Interacting with celebrities, interesting people, and political figures, the hotel provided a setting that gave him many stories to tell throughout his life. David's professional life was devoted to providing custodial services in Poudre School District. It was during his service at Boltz Junior High that he developed "the word of the day" to engage junior high students. Many of those students continued to greet him whenever they encountered him until his death. In his leisure time David and his brothers enjoyed fishing trips every Tuesday during late spring through the fall for many years. He also enjoyed Saturday morning breakfast with his father, step mother, brother Tom and his wife Beverly until his death. David is predeceased by his parents, Ann and Frank Michoski, brother Bob, and sister Barbara. He is survived by brothers Dan, Tom (Beverly), and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
