David Pere

Jun 15, 1969 — Aug 14, 2008

David Péré, 39, of Windsor, died Thursday. David was born on June 15, 1969 in France, and grew up in the Loire Valley region. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Hall, of Midland, Texas; his parents, Jean-Pierre and Mireille Péré, of France; his children, Ethan and Mia Péré of Fort Collins, Colorado and Tristan Péré of Midland, Texas; his brother, Frederic Péré and wife Virginie and daughter Clara, of France; and his sister, Stephanie de Oleivera Vasconcelos Péré and husband Washington and daughter Sofia, of France. David led a broad and varied life. He studied international imports and exports in France before moving to London, England, where he resided for several years and managed a popular café in Waterloo Station. He served in the French military, during which time he was a part of Operation Hope in Somalia. After his military service ended, he moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he resided until moving to Windsor earlier this year. Those who worked with him during his tenure in industrial sales knew him as an astute and savvy businessman with a love of music, art, travel and literature. He was a devoted father to his children and a talented athlete who enjoyed many pastimes, including mixed martial arts. In recent years, many of his most-treasured activities involved his Harley Davidson motorcycles, which he spent many hours repairing, improving and riding. He had a sharp wit and a kind heart. David was brilliant, ambitious, generous, loving and beloved. His family hopes that those who knew and cared for him will find comfort in the knowledge that during his final days he found reconciliation with God and that he is at peace. Services in commemoration of David's life will be held on Saturday, August 23. All who wish to join his family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., at Thunder Mountain Harley-Davidson (Crossroads Blvd., Loveland), followed by a wake at Coopersmith's Poolside (Old Town Square, Fort Collins). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for his children may be made to the Pere Memorial Fund, care of Goes Funeral Care or First Nation Bank of Fort Collins.
