Deborah Irene Buttermore, 72, of Lemoyne, Nebraska, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 5, 2023 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Debbie was born in Laramie, Wyoming on January 4, 1951 to parents, Kathel and Ed Rodriguez. She grew up in Walden, Colorado until the family relocated to Fort Collins. While attending high school in Missouri, Debbie met her first husband with whom she shares her three daughters. Eventually, they settled back in Fort Collins and she began working as a nutrition manager for Columbine Health Systems.
In 1994, Debbie met Bill Buttermore and it was love at first sight. They married in 1997 and moved to Lake McConaughy in 1999. Debbie continued working in elder care until retirement in 2014. Retirement didn't slow Debbie down – she was always looking for ways to help and volunteered her time at the Senior Center and the Food Pantry in Ogallala.
Debbie enjoyed all that life has to offer. She loved fishing and camping; she sewed and crocheted; and she enjoyed watching anything on the Hallmark channel. On the weekends, you could find her garage sale shopping or playing card games. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Debbie had a fiery spirit and a big heart. Everywhere she went, she found people to "adopt" and care for.
Debbie is survived by her daughters and their spouses Shana & Melanie Colbert, Sara & Patrick Wald, and Sharlene & Sean Higley; her 5 grandchildren Emmalee, Taylor, Nicholas and wife Jordan, Morgan, and Gabriel; and her 6 great-grand daughters, Annaliyah, Izzibelle, Delilah, Remington, Declann and Ayden; as well as stepdaughter Lesa Buttermore and her daughter Kris; and brother Don Rodriquez and sister in law Kathy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill Buttermore, her partner of many years Allen Scheele and her "adopted" daughter Angela Eyestone.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pathways Hospice or the Animal Friends Alliance.
