Delmar Alan Brooks

Delmar (Del) Brooks (81) passed away January 1, 2021 in Fort Colllins, CO after years with Alzheimer 's disease. Del was born in Kathryn, ND to George and Eda Brooks. He graduated from Kathryn High School. He moved to Lakewood, CO in 1961, and in September of 1961, he married Joyce Winchip. He went to Journeyman HVAC training.

Del and Joyce had three children: Scott, Shawn and Sherilyn. Del started a 40-year career in commercial HVAC service work. He served as president for the Western Region Refrigeration Service Engineers Society for several years. In 1971, the family moved to Fort Collins, CO.

Del had several activities he enjoyed: hunting, trap shooting, motorcycling, skiing (including volunteering as an Ambassador at Copper Mountain ski area after his retirement), and always followed his children and grandchildren in their activities.

Del is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Brooks, and his three children: Scott Brooks, Ft Collins CO; Shawn (Pamela) Brooks, Minot, ND, and Sherilyn (Matt) Galeener, Bellvue, CO, grandchildren Bella and Grace Galeener; Bellvue, CO, and Valarie (Chris) Bradshaw, Utah; and Wil (Cindy) Oberdick, North Dakota. Del also had 4 great-grandchildren: Lily, Willow, Henry, and Lucy. He is survived by his sister Carolyn (Ed) Gruber, Texas.

Del is predeceased by his Mother and Father and 6 siblings: Jim, George, Bettie, Joan, David, and Sybil.

Due to the current Covid gathering regulations, there will not be a memorial service at this time. The family would enjoy any memories that are written here. Memorial donations are suggested for the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) and Pathway's Hospice (pathways-care.org).
