Dolores Ann (Hill) Hall, 89, of Fort Collins, CO, died peacefully at home early Wednesday morning, May 26, 2021.
Dolores was born in 1931 to Merle and Stella Hill in St. Francis, Kansas, the third of their twelve children. With ten brothers and one sister, she developed her sassy, indomitable spirit. She graduated with the St. Francis High School class of 1949.
She and Doyle Hall were married on May 6, 1951. They moved to Fort Collins in 1960. During their 67-year marriage, their family grew to include four children, six grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren, who all called her Nana. She was blessed to have almost all of them living within ten miles her entire life, which enabled many delightful gatherings over the years.
For 25 years, she worked for the Fort Collins office of the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
Dolores loved camping with family as well as with the Good Sam trailer club. After owning and enjoying RVs of every size and shape, she and Doyle shifted to a snowbird lifestyle – spending 25 winters in Mesa, Arizona, first at Mesa Regal retirement community and then at Valle del Oro.
Dolores was a gifted seamstress and weaver. Her family cherishes the many gorgeous quilts and baskets she made. She was feisty and competitive at cards and games. She had a wicked sense of humor, and relished sharing off-color jokes. In her later years, Dolores embraced new technology; even at 89, she helped others learn iPad skills. She was sharp as a tack to the very end.
Her remaining family will dearly miss her, including her sister Sandra Swann; brothers Ron, Dale, Craig, Larry, and Ed Hill; daughters Dayle Towers and Becky Tyler; sons Doug and Ken Hall, and all their spouses, children, and grandchildren. Her husband Doyle; parents Merle and Stella; and brothers Neal, Ted, Bill, Jerry, and Laddie all passed away during her lifetime.
Dolores's family plans to celebrate her life in a private ceremony.
