Don Ray Morrow

Apr 9, 1936 — Apr 20, 2017

Don Ray Morrow of Ft. Collins, CO died peacefully Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his home after a brief illness. He was 81 years old.
Don was born April 9, 1936, the only survivor of triplets, in Ardmore, OK to Charles Gibson Morrow and Thelma Mae Cooper. After living several years in Canadian, TX he moved with his family to Los Alamos, NM. He graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1954 and earned a BA from Eastern New Mexico University. Don married Delores Ann (Bond) in 1962 and were married more than 50 years before her passing in 2012.
Following college, Don worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the mechanical fabrication division. He began work as a machinist, but soon moved to other administrative assignments. Because of his knowledgeable machinist background, he was responsible for hiring and recruiting prototype machinist with the specialized skills needed at the laboratory, as well as developing an apprentice program to train existing employees. His work continued in human resources where he led administrative functions as the Assistant Division Leader before retiring in 1995. Upon retiring, Don and his wife Delores relocated to Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Don really enjoyed traveling with his wife and children. They have many fond memories of boating and camping in their motor home and seeing the country. In retirement, Don and Delores were active members of a local RV club, and many other organizations in Rio Rancho.
Don moved to Fort Collins and Rigden Farm in 2012. He made many new friends in the Rigden Farm community and enjoyed exercising, spelling group and serving as an ambassador.
Don is preceded in Death by his parents, his wife and his brother Dwayne Morrow. He is survived by his sons Kenyon (and Renee), Steven (and Diana) and grandchildren Dalton, Delaney and Olivia.
