Donald Taylor, 60, died on January 31, 2018 following a courageous battle with ALS surrounded by his loved ones at Poudre Valley Hospital.
Don was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey and Fort Collins, Colorado. He was a graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology. After college he joined the US Army and served as a Captain for the 48th Maintenance Company in Baumholder, West Germany. After leaving the military, he was employed as a civilian working at Fort Lee, VA as a Computer Systems Analyst doing what he loved to do, working with computers. Don's last ten years of his professional Computer Systems Analyst career were spent at FedEx in Memphis, TN.
He was an experienced snow skier, rock climber and certified scuba diver. His love for the outdoors began with the Boy Scouts of America where he became an Eagle Scout and was a member of Order of the Arrow. His experience in scouting inspired his son to join BSA Troop 331 in Collierville, TN where Don served as a Scoutmaster.
Don always viewed the cup as half full rather than as half empty. He lived his life to the fullest every day. He had the most wonderful smile that contagiously captured the hearts of everyone who met him. Even though he lost his ability to speak, he was still able to communicate through his eyes, which speaks volumes. He was an inspiration to many who witnessed how one facing adversity handles it with grace and dignity. We will miss our SUPERMAN also known as SUPERDON.
Don is survived by his wife Hing, son Matthew and daughter-in-law Kimberly and their 6 children, son Chris, daughter Nicole, sister Kate and brother-in-law Ken, sister Bonnie and brother-in-law Bob, nephew James, nieces Tracy and Ellie.
