Dorothy Weers

Dorothy J. Weers, age 89, of Fort Collins passed away August 30, 2010 at Golden Peaks Care & Rehab Center. A private memorial service and celebration is being planned. Dorothy Joyce Larner was born December 1, 1920, in Stokenchurch, England. She was the oldest of eight children born to Henry William Larner and Hilda Minnie (Judge) Larner. She is survived by her husband Ronald, one sister, one brother, one son, one granddaughter, three great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson. Dorothy met her husband in April of 1953 in England, where he was stationed in the U. S. Air Force, and they were married July 24th, 1954. They were transferred to the States in March 1957, and she became a naturalized citizen on May 13, 1960. They lived in Southern California and she accepted a temporary position with Firemans Fund Insurance Company in the fall of 1957. After 28 years with Firemans Fund, she retired in October of 1985. Dorothy and Ron move to Fort Collins in the fall of 2003. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in her memory to Elderhaus Adult Day Programs, 605 South Shields St., Fort Collins, CO 80521.
