Edward "Eddie" Faillace

Edward Joseph Faillace passed peacefully with family at his side after a sudden illness on June 30, 2014 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Edward (Ed) was 87 at the time of his death. He is survived by son Joseph Faillace, of Phoenix Arizona, daughter Linda Marsh of Fort Collins Colorado and grandchildren Kelly, Eddie, and Natalie.

Ed grew up in White Plains, NY and played football on the high school team where even Joe Paterno knew him as the "White Plains Flash". He graduated high school in 1945 and entered Notre Dame College on a football scholarship the same year. Ed's time at Notre Dame was shortened by the draft into the Army at the end of World War II where he served 2 years and was honorably discharged in 1947. In 1952 Ed married Pauline Di Buono and they were married for 59 years until Pauline's death in 2011.

Ed spent his life in many vocations including building custom homes in Quebec Canada; restaurateur in Quebec and Scottsdale Arizona; and insurance agent. But his most passionate vocation was writing columns for the Triangle Review (a former Fort Collins weekly) and being one of the founders and writers of the Fort Collins Forum a monthly newspaper.

Ed was a Christian political activist and used his pen to speak his piece and views on local Fort Collins issues and City Council decisions. He had many fans and many adversaries, but whichever side you stood on, you knew where Ed stood and what he stood for. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1980 and was baptized at the First Assembly of God in Phoenix Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's name to Pathway's Hospice and/or Animal House of Fort Collins.
