EDWARD MARTEN MORA
Edward Marten Mora of Greeley, Colorado went home to be with his Lord on November 6, 2014 after a brief stay at Medical Center of the Rockies. Ed, or Eddie as he was known by a lot of his family, was born along with his twin sister, Edwina "Windi," on March 21, 1967 to Sylvia A. Gonzales and Manuel J. Mora at Larimer County Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado.

From the age of four, Windi and Ed were raised by their first cousin Rachel and Lorenzo "Lee" Luna whom he called Mom and Dad. They lived in several places in the U.S. including Indiana, California, and Texas, and finally settling back in Colorado.

When he was a teenager he was a contender for the State of Colorado for the body building team that trained out at Aims Community College. He would also DJ at several popular dance clubs in Greeley during the early 1980's including CJ's and Rooster's; he also was a cook for a while at The Paragon Restaurant in Greeley. When he was 18 he was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma behind his right eye, and was an inpatient at Children's Hospital in Denver for the next three years where they aggressively treated his cancer with massive radiation and chemotherapy. He would always make sure to tell people that he was the first patient that Dr. Daniels "experimented with block radiation." While there he was able to go white water rafting down the Colorado River, and he bragged that he would play the arcade game "Centipede" with Karl Mecklenburg from the Denver Broncos for ice cream sandwiches. He also befriended a 6 year old girl, Katie, and he shared stories about how they would squirt the doctors and nurses with syringes full of water and get into other mischief. They were best buds in the hospital and unfortunately she passed away from Leukemia while they were both at Children's.

Ed was a hardworking man who didn't let his health problems keep him down for long. He held various maintenance supervisor positions including Twin Lake Towers in Denver, and The Greeley Place in Greeley. Finally he had to retire due to increasing health problem after effects due to his prior cancer treatments. In the last 13 ½ years he had found the love of his life, Kristin Dewey, and lived out on her parent's farm near Gill, helping her father with the cows and various other farming tasks becoming a farmer-in-training. Ed also helped Kristin with raising her daughter, Kira, since age 6 ½ yrs. old, whom he called his own. He loved his time out on the farm raising tomatoes and jalapenos, and he has various fur kids that will greatly miss him but especially Mustang "The Big Guy."

Ed is survived by his wife, Kristin Dewey, and daughter, Kira Coffman, whom he called "his girls." He is also survived by his Mom and Dad, Rachel and Lee Luna, his other mom, Sylvia, brothers: Paul Luna, Cruz Luna, Anthony Chris Mora, and sisters: Windi Duran, Ramona, Sandy, and Felicia. He's also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his dad, Manuel, older brother, Jessie, maternal grandparents, Shawn and Mary Gonzales, and his paternal grandparents Severa Galindo and Jesus Mora, and Aunt Josefina Trujillo (Grandma Josie to him).

Services will be held Friday, November 14, at 10 am at Sherwood Park Baptist Church. Memorial contributions can be sent to Kristin Dewey care of Sherwood Park Baptist Church for donations to some charities including Animal Charities.
