Ed Stanislaw, age 67 of Ft. Collins, died September 8, 2010 at Poudre Valley Hospital after weeks of declining health following a relatively simple surgery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 14th at Goes Funeral Care, 3665 Canal Drive. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the interment following the mass at Grandview Cemetery. Edward Francis Stanislaw was born January 21, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio to Steve and Josephine Stanislaw. He grew up in the Twin Cities, Minnesota and lived formerly in North Dakota and Mason City, Iowa prior to moving to Fort Collins in 1977. He owned and operated Stanislaw Displays where he did window displays for clothing stores up and down the Front Range. Ed was an artist with his decoration skills and won awards for his window displays as well as being well known for his beautiful Christmas displays. He especially enjoyed decorating churches during the Christmas season. Ed was an avid Minnesota Vikings Fan who also had a caring and generous heart. He loved to help family and neighbors anytime there was a need. Ed had a spare bedroom set up with an entire city train display. He enjoyed camping and being outdoors and in his younger days, enjoyed motorcycle riding, water/snow skiing, boating, and snowmobiling. He is survived by his son, Mike (and wife, Jane) Stanislaw; daughter, Roxanne Salazar; his former wife, Irene Stanislaw; and two grandchildren, Alyssa and Zack Salazar all of Ft. Collins . He is also survived by his siblings, Theresa Bloom, Jimmy Stanislaw and Charlie Stanislaw, all of Minneapolis , MN and Leo Stanislaw of Los Angeles, CA. Ed was preceded in death by a brother, Larry and sister, Gen Stanislaw.
