Elizabeth "Liz" Aldana

In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Aldana Liz Aldana passed away on January 13, 2026, in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was a woman of deep resilience, childlike joy, and enduring faith, whose life reflected strength earned early and a wide-eyed openness to the world. Becoming a mother at sixteen to Elizabeth (Lizzie), Liz entered adulthood early and met it with determination. She later welcomed two sons, Michael and Alex Dillon. Motherhood was the great love of her life, and she was deeply proud of her children and their academic and professional successes. Inspired by her children, Liz pursued her own education later in life, working toward an Associate Degree in her forties, a milestone she held with great pride. Her early experiences shaped her profoundly. Liz knew herself to be a strong woman, carrying that belief through every chapter of her life. A fierce fighter, she lived with an intensely strong faith in her own resilience and in her connection to God, which anchored her through both triumph and hardship. Liz possessed a rare, youthful sense of wonder. She approached life with curiosity, enthusiasm, and sincere delight in simple joys. She loved celebrating life: laughing, eating well, enjoying good food, playing board games, watching movies, and spending time with the people she loved most. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, marking the lives of those she loved with care and intention. She was an adoring grandmother to Mekya, Arjuna, and Briar, and loved her grandchildren deeply, taking immense joy in each of them. In her later years, Liz moved to Colorado to live near her brother Xavier and his children, finding comfort and closeness in family. Her faith community was central to her life, and she cherished the fellowship she shared with her Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Aldana; her brother, Henry; and her sister, Lucy. She is survived by her daughter Liz and her husband Taran, parents of her beloved grandsons Mekya and Arjuna; her son Michael Dillon and his Jessica, parents of her beloved granddaughter Briar, and her son Alex Dillon; as well as her nine siblings and extended family, whose lives are forever shaped by her presence. A viewing and memorial service will be held in Fort Collins at Goes Funeral Care, located at 3665 Canal Dr., Unit E, Fort Collins, CO 80524, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. In remembering Liz, her family honors a woman who fought fiercely, loved fully, raised her children with devotion and strength, and met life with courage, joy, perseverance, and an open heart. Dress is open and at the discretion of each guest. Some family members will be wearing traditional black as an expression of respect, while others will choose colorful or vibrant attire to reflect Liz’s love of life. Guests are warmly invited to come dressed in whatever feels most authentic and honoring to them. Many have kindly asked how they can support our family during this time.
