Elizabeth (Betty) Walsh, 79, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully Sunday October 11, 2009, with her family by her side. Betty was born June 22, 1930 in Rochester, New York, to Charles B and Anna Agnes Buckwell. She was the youngest of 5 children. Betty would often share fond memories of growing up in a home with three big brothers, a sister, and friends, where there was never a dull moment and she was the little sister who everyone loved. Betty graduated from John Marshall High School in 1947. On June 7, 1952, Betty married Donald (Baldy) Walsh. They were married 57 years and spent 60 New Year's Eves together. In 1971 the Walsh family moved to Fort Collins. Betty is a member of Blessed John the 23rd Parish in Fort Collins. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing cards, visiting Hawaii, and was proud of her Irish heritage. A visit to Betty's house was never without "drinkies and snackies". Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Agnes Buckwell, her infant daughter, Mary Walsh, and by her siblings, Clarence (Buck) Buckwell, Marion Linehan, Charles (Chuck) Buckwell and John Buckwell. Betty is survived by her husband, Don, and their children, Tim Walsh of Fort Collins, CO, Sue Friede (Mike) of Loveland, CO, and Terry Walsh (Denise) of Littleton, CO. , grandchildren Tucker Knight, Danny Knight, Jenna Friede, Shane Friede, and Nicole Walsh and several nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by her very special friend and faithful canine companion, Barney. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2009, at Blessed John the 23rd Church, 1220 University Ave, Fort Collins, CO. The family suggests that donation be made to Pathways Hospice, 305 Carpenter Rd., Ft. Collins, CO 80525.
