Elsa Williams

Elsa Williams (12/14/1930- 2/17 /2017) died peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Bergen, Norway and met David her husband of 65 years while on a cycling trip through England. After a long-distance romance, they were married and moved to Manitoba, Canada. Three children later, they moved to Wisconsin so her husband could pursue his doctoral degree. After 2 more children, they moved to Hawaii to a beautiful farm in upcountry Maui. Her last child was born in Hawaii, Elsa's home for 32 years. After retiring Elsa and David moved to Fort Collins to enjoy time with their children and grandchildren. Elsa's passions were her Christian faith, family and friends. Her service in this world was feeding others, being present with others, bringing laughter into a room, and being surrogate mom to many. She loved the sunshine on her face, adventures with her husband, chocolate, flowers, candles, Christmas, music, reading, knitting and doing needle point. She never complained about her pain or trails but instead laughed and focused on the people around her. She will be deeply missed. Elsa is survived by her husband, David; her sons, Harry (Kathy) and Alan (Wanda); her daughters, Wendy Williams, Nutie (Tom) Melrose- Keogh, Nikki (Rik), and Kristin (Jeff); 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her family would like express gratitude to Pathways Hospice at McKee for the tender care of Elsa in her last week of life. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 22nd at Drake Road Christian Church at 608 E. Drake Road in Fort Collins. The family suggests contributions to Pathways Hospice of Larimer and Weld counties.
