Elzora Nielsen

Elzora Lee Gilbreath Nielsen passed away peacefully in her home on March 12, 2021. She was born Elzora Lee Sherwood in Chickasha, Oklahoma on August 11, 1927. She grew up in Chickasha, where she attended the Oklahoma College for Women, majoring in Home Economics. She married Robert E.Gilbreath and they had three children, Zorina Kay Birkle, Robert Eugene Gilbreath, Jr., and Sonia Patrice Smith.

Elzora retired from Colorado State University in 1990 after 20 years in the Accounts Payable department. She loved Fort Collins and took great pride and joy in her flower gardens.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sonia, and her husband, Russ Nielsen. She is survived by her daughter, Zorina, her son, Robert, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends on Tuesday, June 29th, 2021 from noon until 2 at 1044 Glenmoor Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80521. Donations, if desired, may be made to FeedingAmerica.org.
