Estelle Zalewski, age 98, of Fort Collins, Colorado, formerly of Toms River, NJ died May 23, 2016 at Collinwood Assisted Living in Fort Collins, Colorado
Estelle Kozlowski-Zalewski was born February 16, 1918 in Jersey City, NJ to August and Anna Kozlowski. She grew up in Jersey City and married Charles A. Zalewski in 1940 at St. Anne's Catholic Church. She worked as an assembler and packer for Continental Can Company, in addition to raising her two children. She and Charles retired to Toms River in 1980 and enjoyed their involvement at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. After Charles' death, Estelle moved to Fort Collins to be nearer to her son and daughter-in-law.
Estelle was a fiercely independent and tenacious person, who would typically be found crocheting an Afghan as well as being involved in other crafts. Once moving to Fort Collins, she immediately involved herself in seasonal crafting at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Terry Zalewski of Fort Collins; her daughter, Regina (and Barry) Getis; two granddaughters, Anne Atlas and Theresa Ternlund; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jaxon and Melanie.
Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 9:30 am, Saturday, May 28, 2016 and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Fort Collins. Entombment will be held Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 in Toms River, NJ.
