Ethan Scott Benson

Aug 27, 2011 — Jul 19, 2013

Ethan Scott Benson died peacefully in his sleep early July 19th, 2013 ( just shy of his two year birthday) at home in Fort Collins, Colorado with his twin sister, Abby, by his side and family near. Ethan was born at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins on August 27th, 2011 to Karen and Ryan Benson.
Our sweet pea has been fighter from the get go. The complications of the pregnancy, to the touch and go days at the NICU, and all the way to walking with his club feet did not stop him from accomplishing his mission. He was a strong baby that endured all his preemie complications so his twin sister could live, and did it with the sweetest disposition and nary a complaint. He was here for a higher purpose, that is why he fought so hard to stay as long as he could until it was his time to draw his last breath. Ethan was such a sweet baby and loved by everyone his sweet smile touched. He rarely cried, unless his sister stole his toy. He was quite content playing with his blocks, reading books, and his favorite thing; balls. He would have made a great quarterback or pitcher. He showed us how to always be strong, to love, to live and to laugh. So now as he soars above us in his new home up high, his love and sweet charisma will be in the hearts of many.
Surviving Ethan are his parents Karen and Ryan Benson, twin sister Abby Marie, brother Kaleb Earl, maternal grandfather David Whiting, paternal grandparents Christine and Jeff Blundell, aunt and uncle Jeri Lynn and Cody Koons of New York, and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Preceded in death by his grandmother Marilynn Jenson Whiting (who is now holding his sweet hand).
A Memorial Service will be held for Ethan Friday, July 26th, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 1400 Lynwood Drive Fort Collins, CO. 80521. The service will be led by Bishop Allen with a reception to follow for family and close friends. In celebration of Ethan's life please wear bright colors.
