It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Angel Marie Ellerby on Sunday, December 14th, 2025, passing from natural causes at the age of 50, while in the care of UC Health Greeley Hospital. Born to parents Eugene and Rosie Yardley on May 12th,1975 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Angel loved adventures, telling jokes, cooking, playing cards, games, and had an impact on the lives of everyone that she met.
Angel was beloved wife to husband Michael Ellerby, her partner in life and best friend. They married on August 17th, 1996, and together they raised one beautiful daughter Juliana (Julie) Ellerby and maintained a house filled with love, laughter, the smells of great food, and furry critters. (Maximus, Fang, and Kit-Kat).
Passing before her were her grandparents Jose & Conferina (hot chilly grandma) Lucero, and Dink & Pearl Yardley.
Angel is survived by her daughter Juliana Ellerby, husband Michael Ellerby, parents Eugene and Rosie Yardley, brother Larry Yardley and Kathy Yardley, brother Joe Ray Yardley and Kim Yardley, God Parents Joe and Kathy Lucero, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Her favorite poem was Robert Frost: Nothing Gold Can Stay
She was an advocate for causes such Saint Jude's Children's Hospital, animal shelters, and animal rescues. Her soft heart went out to all children and animals to the extent of adopting Amber Romero into her home and life.
We miss her already – getting around on giggle power, finding the beauty in everything, her sense of adventure, being a musical fairy, warming a room with that smile, and being a fierce protector of everything important in life. Angel's flame burned so bright and we are saddened it was extinguished so early.
We will be Celebrating her life on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, at Northside Aztlan Center (Eagle Room) in Fort Collins, Colorado. It will be a pot-luck style event sharing great stories and your favorite Angel jokes.
