Eva Verg

Eva M. Verg, 97, of Fort Collins died at home embraced by her family, June 16, 2011. Family and friends please join us for funeral services 1:00 Tuesday at Goes Funeral Care with Rev. Richard McDermott officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetary. Pallbearers are Joe Whitney, Joseph Whitney, Jim Verg, Jim Whitney, Tom McMaster and Roy Lilley. A wake will follow at her home. Eve was born November 1, 1913 in Oneida, Illinois, to Arthur T. and Hannah McMaster She was raised on a beautiful Illinois farm with her brother Tom and sister Helen. Her persistence was evident in her achievements. Eve was Valedictorian of her high school and graduated Magma Cum Laud from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. Eve married Herb Verg on June 11th, 1936 in St. Joseph, MO. They worked together for many years, and adopted two lucky baby girls in 1953. Eve and Herb lived in Mission Hills, Kansas until 1976 when they moved to Fort Collins, CO. In Fort Collins they shared their love of family, mountains and fishing the Poudre River. Through the later years of her life Eve remained the inspirational, independent woman known to her family and friends. Every day Eve spoke of her soul mate Herb and expressed her love of family. The simple act of looking out her window and seeing a beautiful Colorado sky, dogs running on the deck or horses frolicking across the creek brought a smile to her face. She has joined her love and we find peace in that knowledge. Eve's family would like to express apprciation for the special care provided by Pathways Hospice Team. Eve is survived by two daughters, Diane Whitney and husband Joe of Fort Collins and Debbie Verg of Loveland; four grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica Whitney of Fort Collins, Jim Verg of Loveland, Co and Melissa Bourke of St. Louis, MO; two great grandchildren, Eva and Gunner Verg of Loveland; and special nephew Tom McMaster and wife Deanie of Lincoln, Nebraska;.
