Evelyn J. Hollingshead passed away at home on Tuesday, July 21 2009 from cancer. She was born Evelyn J. Fraser April 2, 1940 in Denver CO to F.W. Sonny Fraser and G. Louise Herman Fraser of Edgewater. She was the second of three daughters and graduated from Jefferson HS in Edgewater class of 1958. Evelyn was the wife of Donald C. (Holly) Hollingshead for 50 years; they had three children Tina, Deneen, and Daniel. They were married in St. Mary Magdalene on July 2nd 1959 and began their family in Arvada. In 1976 they moved to Ft. Collins to begin their business eventually both went to work for CSU. She worked in the Housing/Food Service at CSU for 19 years. Evelyn and Don enjoyed their retirement together and are in the process of building a house on their property outside of Rand CO. Evelyn enjoyed her role as wife and mother along with arts and crafts and sewing for her family. Her other interests included yoga, metaphysics, and a general quest for knowledge through books, tapes and the internet which allowed her to communicate with family and friends via email. Evelyn is preceded in death by her father Sonny Fraser; and will be sadly missed by her husband Don, their three children Tina L. Hollingshead, Deneen H. Gillespie her husband Scott and their three daughters Mellissa, Valerie and Kimberly, D. Daniel Hollingshead and his partner Al M. Hunt, her mother Louise Fraser, sisters Anita Brennan and Kay Fraser. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Blessed John XXIII University Center Saturday July 25th at 3:00pm in Fort Collins. Evelyn will be interned in the cemetery at Rand CO at a future date. The family suggests that any memorial donations please be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Evelyn Hollingshead memorial fund in care of 2013 Ridgewood Rd., Ft. Collins, CO 80526.
