Evelyn Morehart, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away March 27, 20021 in Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 88. A Colorado native, Evelyn grew up outside of Parker. She attended Aurora High School where she was homecoming queen and salutatorian of her class. She then attended Colorado A&M for two years. While there she received academic honors, served on the President's Advisory Board and was President of the Independent Women's Association.
A homemaker while her children were growing up, Evelyn was very involved in their activities as well as the PTA, the J'Ettes and the Mountain View Extension Homemakers Club. After her children were grown, Evelyn went back to school and earned an Associate Degree with honors from York Technical College in South Carolina. She then went on to work many years for the York County Board of Realtors. After her retirement, Evelyn returned to Colorado to spend her golden years in her beloved native state.
Evelyn loved to ride horses, garden, sew, and read. She was an avid fan of the Broncos, Rockies and the CSU Rams. During her last years she especially delighted in playing with her great-grandson. Family and friends enjoyed her stories and her wonderful sense of humor and will miss her warm, caring and loving attitude. She was always willing to listen to one's troubles and lend a supportive shoulder and helping hand.
Evelyn is survived by her son Mark (Sharon) Morehart, and daughters Kristi Morehart and Joy (Dave) McClure; by her grandchildren Miriam Morehart (Taylor Linquist), Nathan Morehart, Katie Tabke, Matt Tabke, Rachel (Saul) Jacobo, and Andrew McClure; and by her great-grandson Adrian Cordova; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her ex-husband David Neal Morehart, daughters Ruth and Betsy Morehart, and her sister Jeanetta Anderson.
A private family burial service will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
