Floyd J Holsinger passed away at Shamrock Manor in Fort Collins, Colorado on September 14, 2014 at the age of 96.
Floyd was born to James and Edith Holsinger on February 17, 1918 in Fort Collins. Floyd attended Fort Collins Schools where he was on the FCHS wrestling team. He had an older brother Paul, twin brother Lloyd, and a younger sister, Vivian and son Jim all of whom predeceased Floyd.
Floyd met Cleo Furones at the County Fair in Fort Collins, married, served in WWII, joined the VFW and had two sons, James and Jerry. He was a builder for 50 years alongside his best friend Robert Frederick and his wife Yvonne. Brother-in-law George and his wife Beryl were close family members. Floyd had a wonderful Girlfriend Bernice Glaun. After he lost Bernice, Edith Harris was his loving companion until she passed in 2013.
Floyd is survived by son Jerry, granddaughter Lori Wold and her son Aaron and daughter Breana husband Kyle, son Brayden and daughter Karly. Grandson Brian and wife Stephanie and their sons Zachary and Kyler. Jim's daughter Corrie Clark. Paul's son Kieth wife Debbie and son Kent. Georges and Beryl Furones's son and daughter Keith Furones and Sherry Schneider Vivian's daughter Marsha and many nieces and nephews.
Floyd had so many friendships over the years most of them he is with now. Surviving friends including Georgia & Dean Ackerman, Shirley Johnson, Harris family, Frederick family, McDonald breakfast group, and so many others made Floyd's life special.
A special thanks from the family to the wonderful people who helped with Floyd's care, comfort and happiness including Stephanie and Brian Holsinger, the Harris family, Seniors Helping Seniors, Meals on Wheels, Fort Collins Senior Center, Caregiver Nora Kohuth, Dr Homburg, Halcyon Hospice & Palliative Care and the extraordinary Shamrock Manor staff, especially the owner Chris Bryan.
