Francis Trenholm, loving father and husband died at home in Fort Collins, Colorado, January 18, 2019. He was 78 years old. Born February 1940 in Douglas, Wyoming to the late Bill and Lucille Trenholm.
Francis attended Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska, and earned a teaching degree. It was there that he met the love of his life, Barbara McMillan. They were married August 10, 1968, and resided in Douglas and Gillette, Wyoming. He had three children: Jerry, Jim, and Jacque. For several years after college Francis was a teacher and football coach in Glendo, Wyoming. He then worked for a number of years in the mining industry with Exxon and later Peabody Energy.
Francis was a skilled handyman and took great pride in his home, and in helping friends and family with projects. There was no project too small or large for Francis to tackle successfully. He was a cherished friend and provided help with projects or a kind ear to those lucky enough to call him a friend or neighbor throughout his lifetime. Two years after the death of his wife, Francis fell in his home and suffered a traumatic brain injury. During his recovery countless people sent gifts and cards, and called to offer support and prayers. The family wishes to thank everyone who gave Francis support.
