Frank Herald Spiva (88), of Ft Collins, CO, peacefully passed away on February 7, 2024.

Frank was born on March 15, 1935, to Herald and Ruth (Lind) Spiva in Denver, CO. After Frank graduated from North High School In 1953, he pursued a degree in Business at the University of Colorado in Boulder. During his college years, he joined the United States Army and was enlisted for 2 years and then served in the Army Reserves for 3 years.

After graduation, Frank worked in finance & accounting for over many years in the Denver area. Then in 1989, he became a Planned Giving Counselor for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod for the California/Nevada/Hawaii District where he was passionate about helping others and loved what he did for a living. They moved to the town of Antioch, CA at that time where they quickly made wonderful friends.
On February 12, 1961, he married Judith McKinnies and they quickly welcomed 4 children; Daniel in December 1961, Mark in November 1962 and twins Janet & Ruth in February 1964.

On June 12, 1982, he married Ruth (Werth) Knight and added her daughter, Christine, as one of his own.
Frank retired after 22 years with the LCMS. While retired, Frank had time to pursue his love of genealogy and spending time with his family. In 2015, he & Ruth moved back to Colorado.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, Herald and Ruth, sister-in-law, Sandy Spiva and niece, Leslie Spiva. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, brother Lee Spiva, and children: Dan (Cynthia), Mark (Vicki), Janet (Mark) Gabbert, Ruth Spiva and Christine (Robert) Goodrum as well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be on Tuesday, February 13 at 10:00am at Lakeview Cemetery, 32815 Highway 257, Windsor, CO with a memorial service following at 11:00am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7755 Greenstone Trail, Ft Collins. The memorial service will also be livestreamed for those not able to attend in person – https://live.redeemerconnect.com/
