Gail Patricia Helton

Gail Patricia Helton, 75, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed from this life on July 8, 2022.

Gail was born in Pittsburgh on July 20, 1946 and soon after the family relocated to Santa Ana, California, where she grew up. She graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1964 and 3 years later married Walter John Helton III. Their first three children were born in California, then in 1978 they moved to Colorado Springs, where their youngest was born. In retirement, Gail and John left Colorado and followed their grandkids, living for a time in Arizona, back to California, Las Vegas, and then settling in Fort Collins in 2014.

Gail was a woman of faith. She invested herself in ministry and was involved in local faith communities everywhere she went. Most recently, she was active at Light House Christian Fellowship in Las Vegas, and Faith Church in Fort Collins.

Throughout her life, Gail was known for being a "mega crafter." She was an excellent baker and cake decorator and she could sew absolutely anything. She acted as "wedding planner" for numerous weddings for family and friends, making the cakes, sewing the brides maids dresses, putting together photo albums, and decorating. She was also very active in her church group luncheons and events, providing decorations and support to her church community. Her ultimate joy came from making craft projects with her grandkids. She was extremely creative and loved sharing her creativity with others.

Gail's fun and goofy personality will be greatly missed. Her love for others was deep and she showed this in her selflessness and willingness to help anywhere she could. She especially loved her grandchildren and will be watching over them from above as they grow.

Gail is survived by her children, Alicia (Carl) Tippit; Alex (Rose Marie) Helton; Arika (Brad) Abel; and Aaron (Tiffany) Helton; grandchildren, Arielle, Aden, Alix, Tyson, Brock, Alivia, Ashton, and Anderson; sister Marcia Fulcher; and brother, Chris Rodgers. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Walter John Helton III.

Gail's life will be celebrated both in California for friends and family, and in Fort Collins, Colorado where she became part of the community in recent years.

A Celebration of Life in California will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the home of her daughter & son-in-law Arika and Brad Abel, 34751 Meadow Willow St., French Valley, CA, 92596.

A Memorial Service in Fort Collins, Colorado will take place at 11:00 am, Monday, August 15, 2022 at Faith Church, 3920 S Shields St, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
