Gary Lynn Bensing, 65 passed away at his home in Loveland, CO on June 13, 2013.
Gary was born in Hobbs, NM on April 3, 1948 to Robert Lyle Bensing and Mary Catherine Vines. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and son. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Loveland, and a member of the Cross Country Crusaders, a Christian Motorcyclists Association. Gary attended New Mexico Junior College, and then made the choice to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. He served our country from June 4, 1968 until September 6, 1973. He worked as a chemical processor in the pharmaceutical industry. Some of Gary's favorite pastimes were spending time with his children and grandchildren, riding his motorcycle, watching movies, going to the mountains, fishing, and relaxing in his favorite chair doing crossword puzzles. Gary also enjoyed road trips and especially liked Route 66.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Catherine, sister Glenda Faye Bensing, nephew Sean Davis and wife Vivian Fancey. Gary will be greatly missed by his four children; Jessica Bensing and husband Jared Mortell of Greeley, CO, Carissa Bensing of Loveland, CO, Nathan Bensing and Fiancé Courtney LaCosta of Loveland, CO and Toby Bensing of Denver, CO. He loved his grandchildren, Isabelle Moyes and Chloe Burke, brother Robert Bensing and wife Paula Bensing of Hobbs, NM, nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 19th at Goes Funeral Care, 3665 Canal Drive, Suite E, Fort Collins, Colorado.
A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, June 20th at Trinity United Methodist Church, 801 Cleveland Ave., Loveland, CO.
Interment of his cremated remains, with full military honors, will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, June 21st at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. Be at staging area A by 2:45 PM Friday.
