Gary Terrell passed away on September 28, 2023, after a brief illness. He was 83 years old.
He was born on October 5, 1939, to Monroe Terrell and Janice Barnett in Hale County, Texas. As a child he moved to eastern Colorado where he graduated from Kit Carson High School where he was the class president and a standout athlete. He then served in the 82nd Airborne Division and played football at Western State in Gunnison, CO. After college, he gained employment with Colorado Interstate Gas Company where he stayed for his entire career. During this time, he had two sons and married his best friend Carol (Randel) Terrell. They moved to Strasburg, CO in 1999 where they both enjoyed their retirement. He will forever be remembered for his love of his family, running, learning, dogs, and the Denver Broncos.
Gary is survived by sisters Kay Thomas and Jinny Aguirre, sons Tracy and Christopher Terrell, daughters-in-laws Amy and Tammy Terrell, and grandchildren Kaila, Madison, Megan and Katelyn. A small graveside service will be held on October 21st at 12:00 followed by a celebration of his life to be held at the Kit Carson Hall.
