George Frederick Gaebler was born to Alexander H. Gaebler and Madaline B. Lind on June 11, 1918, in Omaha, Nebraska. George died Saturday May 26, 2012 at the age of 93. He moved with his parents, at a young age, from Omaha to Chicago; where George finished school including college and went to work as a stress engineer for the Martin Marietta Company. George married Mary Claire McDermott on January 10, 1942 before he joined the Navy during WWII. After the war George and Mary Claire moved to Middle River, Maryland, where he continued to work for Martin and they had four children. In 1960 George, Mary Claire and family moved to Littleton, Colorado and he continued to work for Martin Marietta until his retirement in 1985. At that time George moved to Fort Collins and lived at Parkwood Estates. George loved to read and attend mass at Blessed John the 23rd Catholic Church in Fort Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his children Noel (Clyde) Proctor, George F.(Laura) Gaebler, Jr. , Francis (Christine) Gaebler, Alexander (Karen) Gaebler, & numerous grand and great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am June 13th at Blessed John 23rd University Center, 1220 University Ave., Ft. Collins.
