George (Marty) Holcombe

d. Apr 30, 2022

George Martin Holcombe "Marty", went home to Jesus on April 30, 2022 at his earthly at home with family by his side in Wellington, Colorado.

Marty was born February 9, 1958, in Lambert, Mississippi to Bessie Juanita Eidson Holcombe and Bobby Dean Holcombe. He married the love of his life, Saundra Cooksey on September 5, 1981. Two children completed their new family: a son, Nathan Noel Holcombe and daughter, Priscilla Inez "Sissy" Holcombe.

Marty wore many hats in providing for his family. The family business was Holcombe Construction and Trim Carpentry where he worked throughout the company.

Marty shared Jesus with everyone he met. His wife, Sandy shares a memory of him making index cards with scripture on them that he went house to house in the neighborhood to share the Gospel. Marty enjoyed telling stories. What he loved most was time spent with his family.

Marty liked and was liked by everyone he met. Sadly, there aren't enough words or paper to share all the lives he touched as well as the charitable acts often loved on complete strangers. The family is comforted knowing he is in the hands of the Lord.

Marty is survived by his wife Sandy; his children, Nathan and Priscilla of Wellington, CO; the joys of his life, his two grandchildren, Landon Ray Holcombe of Wellington and Alissa Peyton Holcombe of Olive Branch, MS; brother, Dean Holcombe (and sister-in-law, Karen Holcombe) of Nesbitt, MS; his brother-in-law, Kenny Wayne Brower of Pope, MS; brother-in-law, David Cooksey of Waurika, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and an uncle.

Family members who preceded Marty to paradise include his parents, his brother, Alex and sister, Renee Brower. There was a special cousin, Marlon Mills who preceded him home to Jesus; and his niece, Keely Brower.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm Monday, May 9th at the Wellington Community Church. Sandy will keep his urn close until it's her turn to join her Marty.
