Gerald Jorgenson

Jerry Jorgenson 84, of Fort Collins, Colorado and Ortonville, Minnesota, died on Tuesday July 12, 2011 at Mackenzie Place in Fort Collins. Gerald Owen Jorgenson was born November 1, 1926 in Marietta, Minnesota to Owen and Viola Jorgenson. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and returned from the war to farm. He married Alma Marie Buck on June 14, 1953. He was a longtime and very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he held many offices. He was a Life member of the VFW post of Ortonville, and a member of the Big Stone American Legion. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and his horses. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Alma; two sons, WayneJorgenson of Paynesville, MN and Jeff Jorgenson of Palestine, TX; daughter Nancy Behm of Fort Collins; grandchildren; Robert, Jason Buck Jorgenson, Susan Mattern and Ryan and Scott Behm; his sisters, Bette (Marlowe) Engebretson, Spicer and Mary ( and husband, Jerry) Jackson; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday July 18th at St. John's Lutheran Church at 305 East Elizabeth Street, Fort Collins. Another service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 6th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville, Minnesota.
