A visitation will be held from noon to 5:00 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Goes Funeral Care, 3665 Canal Dr., Ft. Collins. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, at Mountain and Howes Streets in Ft. Collins. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00 AM Thursday at St. Joseph Church followed by interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Gloria Hernandez was born in Carrizo Springs,Texas to Armando and Josephina Avalos Belmarez. She grew up in Crystal City, Texas and moved to Fort Collins in 1972. She worked as a cook and eventually as a catering director at Poudre Valley Hospital. On May 4, 1980 she married Delfino "Dale" Hernandez in Las Vegas. Together they have two sons. She loved to cook, dance, crochet and spend time with her grandchildren and family. Gloria was an amazing mother. She was a fan of Betty Boop; preferred to spend time near the ocean and in Corpus Christi; in fact, anywhere in Texas. And she loved shopping. Gloria is survived by her husband, Dale; sons, Steven of Ft. Collins and Michael of Laramie, WY; her parents, Armando and Josephina Belmarez of Fort Colling; her eight siblings, Richard, Roger, Robert, Armando, Emily, Terri and Linda Belmarez and Maria Rangel; as well as six grandchildren.
