Grace Scheer, age 63 of Fort Collins, Colorado died March 4, 2010 at her home after a two year battle with cancer. Grace Ruth Blakemore was born March 1, 1947 in Nyack, New York to David and Edith Blakemore. She lived in Philadelphia until the age of 14 and moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1961. Grace married Dennis Scheer on September 1, 1967 in Cheyenne and subsequently, received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in School Counseling from the University of Wyoming in Laramie. They moved around the country over the years and settled in Fort Collins in 1999. Her most recent school counseling work was done at Ault's Highland High School. A beautiful soul and caring lady, Grace was an active member of Timberline Church where she led and participated in many Bible studies over the years. Grace is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis; two sons, Matthew (and wife, Marie) Scheer of Buckley, Washington and Brian (and wife, Traci) Scheer of Frannklin, Tennessee; her parents, Edith Riddle of Fort Collins and David (and wife, Judy) Blakemore of Loveland; six grandchildren, Brandon and Braelyn, Kialee, Lexi, Jadyn and Tyler; her sister, Esther Jackson of Knoxville, TN; and two brothers, Steven Blakemore of Phoenix, AZ and Gary Blakemore of Casper, WY. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Timberline Church, 2908 Timberline Road, Ft. Collins, in the South Auditorium.
