Greg Akeson

Sep 15, 1967 — Aug 19, 2009

Gregory Keith Akeson, 41, of Fort Collins passed away August 19, 2009.  Greg was born September 15, 1967 in Lincoln, NE to James Akeson and Cinda Sue Walters, both of Lincoln, NE. He is survived by his partner Carl Davis; father, James Akeson; mother, Cinda Sue Walters; stepmother, Jody Akeson; brother, Edward Akeson; stepbrother, Danny Sutton, stepsister, Connie Semiff; brother in law, Gene Semiff; & his grandmother, Jeanne Akeson. Greg was preceded in death by grandfather, Donald Akeson; grandmother, Juanita Walters; grandfather, Gilbert Walters; uncle, Ed Walters. Greg was a passionate hunter and fisherman who had a love for the outdoors, hiking, golfing, cars, camping, travelling and being with good friends.  He lived in Fort Collins for over 12 years and made many wonderful memories along the way.  Greg was a wonderfully special, caring and giving person who cared deeply about his friends.  He was always there to lend an ear, bend the elbow, and give a caring smile. Although he had so many special people in his life, he had a few very dear people close to him, Dianne Bacorn, Dana Davis, Jasmina Sijercic and Christy Richardson. Greg was employed through the Larimer County/Sheriff department for 10 years and most recently was employed as a case manager at Foothills Gateway. Greg will be missed by many, but we should all be grateful that we have a guardian angel looking over us.  He is at peace in Heaven and will be forever in our hearts.  We love you Greg. A memorial gathering and celebration of Greg's life will be held from 11:00 until 1:00 Tuesday, August 25th, at the Marriott Hotel Pavilion on East Horsetooth.
