Guy Ewton

Guy Ewton, 81, of Fort Collins, CO, died Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Poudre Valley Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM Wednesday, August 27th at Meadowlark Church of Christ, 2810 Meadowlark Ave., Fort Collins.  Visitation will be the hour before the service at the church.  Interment, with full military honors will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Staging Area B. Ura Guy Ewton, Jr. was born October 1, 1926 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ura and Maud Ewton.  During WWII, while still in high school, Guy enlisted in the Army Air Corp to become a fighter pilot.  Following the war, Guy received his undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Oklahoma University and went on to receive his masters degree in Aerodynamics from Cal Tech and another masters in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado at Denver.  Guy worked 20 years as an Aeronautical Engineer, 11 years as a General Contractor designing and building custom homes and small commercial buildings and 6 years as a fundraiser for Christian ministries. A significant part of Guy's life was his love of tennis. He had many tennis accomplishments; including winning the Big 8 Championship his senior year at OU and the Colorado State Open tournament at age 38. In 1951, Guy married his first wife of 24 years, Margie Nachazel. In 1977, he married his second wife of 31 years, Bonnie Doll Bennett. He lived formerly in Littleton, Colorado, California, Texas and Idaho prior to settling in Fort Collins in 1997. He is survived by his first wife, Margie Nachazel Ewton, and children Greg Ewton (wife Karen) of Colorado Springs, CO, Pam Marshall (husband Jim) of Highland Ranch, CO, and Cathy Sabatka (husband Darrell) of Lone Tree, CO. He is also survived by his present wife, Bonnie Ewton and children Kevyn Webb (husband Kenneth) of Johnstown, CO, Regan Ewton of Fort Collins, CO and Lane Ewton of Fort Collins, CO and step children Apryl Bennett of Platteville, WI and Angi Bennett of Scottsdale, AZ. Also survived by 14 grandchildren: Amy and Aaron Ewton; Michael, Michelle and Melanie Marshall; Heather, Holly and Hayden Sabatka; Korey, Kaler, Konnor and Kylie Webb; Daylon Bennett; and Tyler Bennett. Guy was preceded in death by his sister, Tomilee Purdum.
