Helen L. Lyons , 90, of Loveland, Colorado, died May 25, 2018.
Helen was born January 13, 1928, on a farm in Allen County, Ohio, to parents Gail and Florence Brenneman. She was raised in Cairo, Ohio and graduated from Lima Central High School in 1945. Helen married Blair Karges in 1946 and they had two children, Vivian Karges McKinley and Deane Karges, Later divorced, she married George Lyons in 1973.
She worked in banking in Greeley for several years, including Greeley National Bank, First National, and Colorado National Banks.
She enjoyed yardwork and reading. Her yard was always immaculate. She especially loved reading Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour novels. She and George loved to travel and especially enjoyed the desert area of Arizona and New Mexico. In her later years she enjoyed travelling with Deane, Patt, and Vivian, taking in Colorado Rockies spring training games. She always was very elegant and a classy lady; however, she was known to be a little feisty and she seldom took guff off anybody.
Helen is survived by her children, Vivian Karges McKinley and Deane (Patt) Karges; grandchildren Greg (Tara) McKinley, Matthew (Terry) Karges, Kirsten Karges, and Josh (Sarah) McKinley; step grandchildren Kevin (Audrey) Tool and Jennifer (Scott) Holladay; 16 great granchchildren; and 2 great great grandsons. She is preceded in death by Husband George Lyons, Brother Gail Brenneman and great grandson Colum McKinley.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 23 at Morning Star Community Church in Red Feather Lakes.
