Helena Ann Vredenburg

Helena Ann Vredenburg, 95 passed away August 16, 2016 in Fort Collins. She was born in Mason County Michigan May 12, 1921. She was raised on a farm near Scottville Michigan, attended high school in Ludington Michigan and Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant Michigan. She received her teaching degree in 1949 however, taught school beginning at the age of 17 in rural and city schools in Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, and Fort Collins.
In 1943 Helena married Harvey Lynn Vredenburg in Cheyenne where Harvey taught in the Quarter Master Corp. She moved to Colorado in 1960 with her husband and two sons. Her husband Harvey preceded her in death in 2001.
In 2006 Helena married John C. Kersnick. Together they shared their later years in Fort Collins enjoying reading, bridge, gardening, CSU sports, and family.
Other survivors include two sons Daniel (Trish) of Virginia, Dennis of Utah, two stepdaughters and one stepson, three siblings: Mim Frisinger, Joe Rinke, Vicki Hammond, grandchildren, great grandchildren and step grand & great grandchildren.
Service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday August 19, 2016 St. Elizabeth Ann Seton followed by a luncheon in Seton Hall. Private Interment at Ft. Logan. Helena requested contributions be made to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton building fund.
