Homer "Craig" Norris
June 22, 1946 – May 10, 2017
Family and friends lost a good man May 10, 2017. Craig was a child of God, a good husband, father, and police officer. He loved Jesus, his wife Lynn, his first family of children Chuck, Craig Jr. (Stacie), Denise (Patrick Bickel), Sharla (Rob Wells), Cary (Gina), and Chris (Shelley) Norris, and his bonus sons, Cale, Taylor, and Evan West.
Born in North Canton, OH, to Homer and Dorothy (Waltenbaugh) Norris, his first dream was to live in Colorado, ride horses, carry a six-shooter, and wear a cowboy hat. He moved here in 1965.
His calling and profession was police officer for the Boulder Police Dept. He loved the action of the night shift and walking the beat on the Pearl Street Mall.
A warm and welcoming man, he loved sharing his passion of natural horsemanship. He taught novices the fundamentals of firearms and advanced skills to the pros.
He told God, "I will serve you any way you need me," and he found himself building churches in Africa, leading divorce recovery classes, and training church security teams.
Mostly he taught his sons how to be good men.
Craig died Wednesday in Ft. Collins, surrounded by people who loved him. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Faith E Free Church, 3920 S. Shields St., Ft. Collins.
