Irene Jane (Bremner) Young of Fort Collins, died July 8, 2016. She was born on January 27, 1926 to Eric John and Irene Josephine (Steinhofer) Bremner in Aberdeen Scotland. Irene was raised with her sister Adelaide and attended St. Andrews School in Scotland.
She married her husband, Dr. Stuart Young, M.R.C.V.S, PhD in Aberdeen Scotland on March 31, 1953. They lived in London while Stuart attended the London School of Veterinary Medicine and in 1955 they immigrated to the United States. Together they traveled and lived in Montana, California and Minnesota, prior to settling in Fort Collins, Colorado in 1964. Dr. Young died December 5, 2003.
Irene was a teacher by trade and worked in the public school systems in the UK and United States. She loved Classical Music, playing the piano and the art of arranging flowers. She worked as the Business Manager for the Fort Collins Symphony and was a Director for the Young Artist Music Competition.
Irene might be survived by her sister, Adelaide Hunter of Ely Cambridge, England and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Irene will be laid to rest next to her husband in Kemnay Churchyard, Kemnay, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
