Irene May Stanislaw, 73 of Fort Collins, CO passed away February 11, 2016. She was born in Sauk Centre, MN on June, 28, 1942. Irene came to Fort Collins in 1977 with her family. She worked in child care, as a nurse at the VA hospital in Minneapolis, MN and Cheyenne, WY, and other retirement homes in Fort Collins and Loveland, CO. She earned her degree in Nursing as an LPN. She married Edward Stanislaw who passed away in 2010. The last 7 years, she has worked as a Foot Care Specialist at area retirement homes. She has created many special friendships at the area nursing homes and others she worked with. Whoever she touched became a very special friend through- out her life. She loved to sew, using her Singer sewing machine. She also loved her grandchildren Alyssa Salazar and Zack Salazar, and tried to be with them as much as possible.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Jane) Stanislaw; daughter, Roxanne Salazar and her 2 grandchildren; 6 brothers and sisters,Jane Bloedorn, Norbert Keopple, Merle Keopple, Willard Keopple, Jimmy Keopple and Maggie Koosmann.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 19th at the Lodge at MacKenzie Place, 4751 Pleasant Oak Drive, Fort Collins. Funeral service 11:00 AM, also at the Lodge, Interment at Grandview Cemetery. Reception at Roxanne Salazar house immediately following the Burial, 2942 Indigo Circle North, Fort Collins..
