Morrison Colorado to Betty Schlechte and Ben Mills. She was the sixth of eight children,
growing up mostly in the Boulder, CO area. As a teenager she moved to Nuremberg, Germany
with her family. She quickly became fluent in German while attending high school. Iris worked
at Molnar Ski, Neodata, Engineering Measurements, and did commercial and residential

her certified nursing aide certificate in 2004 and provided home heath care.
In 1977 Iris married the love of her life, Mike Watson in front of friends and family in Boulder,
CO. They enjoyed years of companionship building a life and enjoyed taking their two beloved
black lab dogs camping and fishing. In 1982 they moved to Longmont and started a family;
they welcomed their son, Michael in 1984, and their daughter, Kelly in 1988. Iris relished her
role of being a mother, she was the best mom and her whole world revolved around her
children.
In the mid 1980's Iris began her study of the Bible. On December 6th, 1986 she was baptized
as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She loved volunteering her time to teach people about the
Bible and treasured the close friendships she built with her service partners over the years and
was a true and loyal friend.
Iris had a heart of gold and a sense of humor that was second to none. She loved babies,
gardening, and traveling. Her laugh could brighten anyone's day and she made even the most
trivial tasks fun, memorable, and full of laughter. Thankfully, her best qualities live on through
her children and grandchildren. Iris will be dearly missed.
