Jack S. Cooley

d. Sep 7, 2022

Jack S. Cooley, 91, passed away on September 7th, 2022. The son of the late William and Blanche Cooley of Denver, he attended South High School and graduated from the University of Colorado.

Jack was the father of 3 children, the late Katie (Tom) Blaney of Jupiter, FL, John (Mary) Cooley of St. Louis, MO, and Dan Cooley, of Ft. Collins, CO. Jack enjoyed his five grandchildren Matt (Kristy) Cooley, Adam Cooley, Jeff Cooley, Ethan Cooley, and Abe Cooley.

Jack served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and then worked as a chemical engineer in Dallas and Kansas City, where he met and married the late Ann Edmonds of Horton, KS. Jack and Ann later lived and worked in Cincinnati, Memphis, and Huntington, WV, before moving to Colorado Springs in 1984, where they lived for 35 years. Jack operated Peak Popcorn company prior to his retirement. In Colorado Springs, he was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and Kiwanis International. Jack and Ann relocated to assisted living in Fort Collins in 2019.

In addition to his family, Jack enjoyed home projects and the outdoors, especially hiking and fly fishing.
Jack was a devoted husband to Ann, who preceded him in death earlier this year after 59 years of marriage. Jack treated everyone with great warmth, and enjoyed conversation and meeting new friends.

Jack will be dearly missed by his children and grandchildren, extended family, as well as many friends that he made during his life's journey.

A memorial service for Jack and Ann at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs is planned for 2023.
