Jack J. Kuhn

Jack Kuhn, 80, of Fort Collins, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends, on June 7, 2013.

Jack was born June 5, 1933 in Des Moines, IA to John and Margaret Kuhn. He grew up in Des Moines where he had to become a man at a young age to help care for his Mom and Sister (Donna) after his Dad left the family. He enlisted in the Navy, barely of age, and served four years including the Korean War. He later returned to Des Moines where he became the number one salesman for Kirby Vacuums. It was during that time that he met his bride, Betty (Greenland). They were married March 28, 1959 in Grand River, IA, they have four daughters. He then began selling insurance through Life Investors in Cedar Rapids, IA and later started his own agency. Jack always loved Colorado and took his family on Colorado vacations several times a year. He went to the top of Vail Mountain and learned how to ski and then was hooked and wanted the whole family to learn. His dream was to live in the Rocky Mountains some day and in 1981 he made that dream come true.

You couldn't help but smile around Jack because he was the most caring, humble, giving and forgiving man. His love for Jesus was evident the minute you met him and he loved helping others. You would often find him sharing something new he discovered in the Bible. On most days you could catch him singing, dancing or whistling. If he ever had a bad day, you didn't know it. He was an avid billiard and learned at a very early age. You could often find him playing pool or selling pool cues at various places around Fort Collins. He was always giving others words of motivation and often had Zig Ziglar quotes that he shared. He was an amazing son, brother, husband, father and grandpa. You will forever be in our hearts!

Jack was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, John and Margaret Kuhn and his sister, Donna Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; four daughters, Pam (Jeff) Westrom of Cedar Rapids, IA; Debbie Kuhn of Fort Collins, Teri Wells of Salt Lake City, UT and Cherie Kuhn of Fort Collins. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren who loved and adored him and will greatly miss him.
